You Can't Spell Steve Jobs without an "N"

Going a Myers-Briggs direction on this blog entry...In reading about Steve Jobs and his personality, it seems clear he had a iNtuitive (N) preference with ENTP and ENTJ being popular guesses on the web.
Intuitives are visionary, original and have a higher tolerance for risk. They have an entrepreneurial spirit. After the dotcom bubble burst in 2000, Apple, under the direction of Jobs, ramped up their research and development spending at a time when others in Silicon Valley were cutting back. He took a risk that the investment would pay off in the long run. There was a lot at stake. A miss here would put the company in jeopardy...or position the company in the forefront of communication and entertainment technology and make it hard for others to catch up.
Jobs focused on products rather than profits and understood that if Apple built great products, the profits would come. It’s a subtle difference with huge ramifications. Because of his tireless pursuits and his unwillingness to compromise on his vision, he and his team executed stunning products and an enviable market share.
Intuitives swing for the fences. If they miss, they can strike out...but boy, when they connect, it’s a sight to behold!
